One Christmas Evening- Children's Benefit at The Mulehouse

About Party of 8 Band/Orchestra!

Foster Party of 8 has performed to support a wide range of non-profit organizations including Relay for Life, Camp Hope, the PHBC Food Pantry, PHBC Samaritan’s Purse,local high school marching bands, and the Maury County Shop with a Cop program.

The group consists of 26 members from Tennessee, Alabama, Kentucky, Georgia, and Mississippi. Alongside the core musicians, FPO8 features a wind section, a string trio and a harp. The Maury County Chorale will also join FPO8 for this evening of music.

The first set will showcase a selection of songs that have been audience favorites over the years. The second set will bring the festive spirit with a collection of holiday music and uplifting gospel songs.

Shop With A Cop program:

Over the years we have been truly blessed to be able to provide a better Christmas for thousands of children throughout Maury County.

I would like share with you a little bit of the joy that we are able to provide to our participants of our Shop with a Cop program first off, the kids are chosen by the School Resource officers that are assigned to each of the county schools because the officer inside of each school every day sees and is able to identify those children in need. We choose 2 students from every middle school and elementary school. We also choose 3 students from out 3 Unit schools (K-12). We provide gift cards to 2 students of our 7 high schools.

We start by taking the kids to Columbia Central High school and we show a Christmas movie and provide drinks and snacks for all the kids and volunteers. After the movie we take the kids to Walmart to shop.

We match every child up with a Sheriff Deputy or Reserve Deputy. Every child is given $300 and most all the kids buy presents for the whole family.

After shopping we take them to another school where we have volunteers that wrap the presents while the kids are served pizza and meet Santa. Typically, we fiscally take between 45-50 kids and buy for approximately 100 kids.
